About the event

The WOC Fashtech Brunch wishes to celebrate and create an intimate space for women of color in the fashion tech, fashion, tech and media industry across the country. The event will facilitate open and transparent dialogue, create networking opportunities and form lasting connections during fashion week.
 

The brunch will bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, gatekeepers and trailblazers in the FashTech world. There will be a panel featuring the following speakers in the FashTech industry:

• Kim Jenkins - Fashion and Culture Scholar, Lecturer, Independent Researcher and Consultant

• Lisa Morales-Hellebo - Co-Founder of the Worldwide Supply Chain Federation and Founder of Refashiond

• Gina Bibby - Partner at Brutzkus Gubner and Fashion Tech Attorney

• Hellyn Teng - Co-Founder and Creative Director of Wearable Media

and more. This is a unique event happening during NYFW, that we believe gives the opportunity to gather many brilliant women of color in one room with the intention of creating a community and facilitating a discussion from our perspectives. We are looking to get interest and support for the event.

Our event is the only event of its kind during Fashion Week that is intended to support and unite women of color in the fashion tech industry. We believe it is important to have diverse and inclusive events that create a sense of community in the fashion and technology fields. Our event is in high demand and will help to give a voice to women who are feeling marginalize in a buddening industry. 

Jessica Couch

Jessica Veronica Couch is a fit technology expert in the fashion technology space and owner of Luxor + Finch Consulting. Jessica received her undergraduate degree for North Carolina State University's renowned College of Textiles in Fashion Product Development and her Master’s in Digital Innovation and Fit from Cornell University under the guidance of Professor Susan P Ashdown. In 2018, she received her a certificate for Digital Product Management: Modern Fundamentals from University of Virginia.

Since the completion of her Master’s, she has worked with and advised numerous companies, brands and retailers in the fit technology space. Jessica has published over 55 articles on the matter of fit and fit tech, a thesis on fit and perception and curated events and panels on the subject of fashion and fit technology. As a consultant, Jessica works as a consumer software product manager and supply chain technology integration strategist. Through Luxor + Finch Consulting, she is able to focus on creating technology throughout the supply chain to improve fit, educate brands on fit as a competitive advantage and to devise sustainability solutions. In 2018 she launched “Fit Equality”, a corporate responsibility initiative to bring awareness for inclusion, sustainability and better practices centered around fit. Jessica Couch is a speaker, writer, innovator and champion of body positivity.
