  • About the event

    The E-Sports Bush League (ESBL) is an amateur E-Sports League which will conduct Seasonal Tournaments.  The purpose of the ESBL is to be the primary destination for gamers who wish to one day go professional but are having a difficult time breaking into the pro e-sports ranks.  Every major sport from baseball to hockey has a minor league system, we believe it is a good time for E-Sports to have a minor league system.  The first tournament will take place the Summer of 2016.

    Most current E-Sports use an internal ELO system used to rank individual players in competitive play.  The problems with the ELO system are numerous and well documented.  That being said, the ESBL has the following goals:

    1. help players learn how to play in competitive environment;

    2. help players improve their skills and strategies;

    3. create a professional competitive community; and

    4. help players showcase their abilities with the goal of becoming a pro-player.

    5. Create an environment where people not directly participating in tournaments can still showcase skills needed in the E-Sports Community. i.e. Shout casters, coaches, managers, and sponsors.

    ESBL will formulate relationships between minor league teams and sponsors who are still attempting to gauge the viability and productivity of E-Sports for their products without a large investment.

    The Proposed First Inaugural tournament

    The inaugural tournament will start the Summer of 2016 running the following four weeks in the proposed format:

            QUALIFYING TOURNAMENTS

    1. 7/9, 7/23, 7/30 – The first three weeks will all be qualifying tournaments.  The 14-day break between 7/9 tournament and 7/23 tournament will be to address any and all concerns that may come up in the beta run of the first tournament.

    2. The proposed rewards for the qualifying tournaments are the teams finishing in the top 2 spots will each get an automatic berth in the tournament conclusion on 8/6;

    3. The first place teams of the qualifying tournaments will receive a benefits from our sponsors;

    4. The Size of each tournament will on initial popularity of the event;

    5. The tournament will be limited to those players ranked from Bronze to Gold.

    6. The tournaments will be advertised via social media, word of mouth, press release, and possibly paid advertising if the as July approaches turn out is limited;

    CONCLUSION TOURNAMENT

    1. The final tournament will be seeded according to the results of the qualifying tournament with approximately one half of the tournament spaces being left for late addition teams;

    2. The winners of each game tournament would get a match between the first place tournament team and a pro-team;

    Why should you sponsor?

    If you are a company who is looking to engage with engange with the video game community for the first time or to already strengthen your reputation within the community than the E-Sports Bush League is the place to get that done.

    EXPECTATIONS FOR INITIAL TOURNAMENT

        Our initial expectations for the Summer Tournament are 8 teams per qualifying tournament with 16 teams for the grand final tournament.  Each of the 8 qualifying teams will have 6 people minimum, 5 people with one substitute per team.  Each qualifying tournament would represent  eight amateur E-Sports teams for a total of 48 players, plus the E-Sports Bush League communitywho are following and watching the tournament progress. The final tournament is expected to consist of a makeup of the tournament winners plus the new late entries, for another 90 E-Sports Players plus the community is following and watching the tournament.

        Therefore, the individual Tournaments are expected to net any sponsor exposure 192 new E-Sport Players and 32 new E-Sport Team for each of the representative games, Smite, Paragon, and OMDU.  The total numbers between the three games would be 576 esports players and 96 E-Sports teams plus the community following.

        The numbers presented are very conservative if any of the games draws more than 8 teams per tournament we will than include the additional teams for a larger tournament.

        In conclusion the possibilities for EBSL and their sponsors are endless within the league.  Entry barrier is nominal and the returns will be amazing.  There will be live twitch coverage with replay videos made all highlighting the teams and the sponsors.  The sponosrship does not just end with the tournamanet but will be a part of the all the teams highlight reels.

    Jimmy Wagner

    The two owners, operators, and organizers of the E-Sports Bush League are Mr. James Wagner  and Mr. Mark Deola.  James Wagner has been an avid e-sports competitor since 1999.  In 1999 dreaming of competing for e-sports was an unrealistic dream because of the low prize money awards, so James moved on from the e-sports scene graduated college and law school and has been employed in the field of Elder Law, but he has always kept his video game passion close to his heart.

    Mr. Mark Deola is a retired e-sports competitor from a time when the prize money was still not enough to support a living.  Mark is a self-employed musician and sound engineer.

    Mark and James both have competed in the Professional Smite Tournaments for Season two until their team was knocked out on the third day. It was after their team was knocked out of the tournament when they came up with the idea for an amateur league where people could come, compete , and hone their skills and discuss strategies for the upcoming professional tournaments. This is how the E-Sports Bush League was born.  Using their own experience from the Smite ProLeague Tournaments they will handle the E-Sports Bush League tournaments .
