About the event

Join us at The Afeni Institute for Urban Mental Health Annual Charity Gala to show your support for the mental health and well-being of those in the urban community. Sadly in our society, especially in urban communities, shame keeps too many people from getting the help they need.​ Proceeds will benefit individuals and families who face a mental health challenge and turn to our organization to access the resources they need.

Why should you sponsor?

1. Put Your Business in the Spotlight- Instead of just attending an event and looking for people to share your business card with, as a sponsor, you gain respect and credibility by standing out from the pack of attendees and prominently displaying your products/services.

2. Give back to the community- Being a sponsor is great because you get to establish goodwill and show the community that you’re a reliable partner that’s able and willing to support all things local. Think of sponsorship as a way of giving back to the community and thanking them for their support.

3. An oppurtunity for lead generation- Galas are excellent opportunities for your business to grab some leads. Find a way to get attendees to sign up for a chance to win prizes, or maybe you can get their information in exchange for some of the items you’re going to give away.

Marie Westfield

Marie Westfield developed her theory of Neurological Urban Science in Fall 2016. This theory is based on research that demonstrates how poor mental health and/or poorly treated neurodegenerative disorders of individuals in urban communities respond far more greater to therapy they can relate to and addresses direct issues problematic in their community. Understanding how the brain influences our cognitive functions and behaviors falls upon the shoulders of The Afeni Institute for Urban Mental Health.We are a mental health counseling/education service focusing on members in the urban community with mental/health issues. The Institute created their clothing line, to spark a dialogue within our community so we can begin the conversation about mental health.
