About the event
As the name suggests, The "A" Game brings together card/game lovers for a day of fun. But our goal is to share our love of card games with all, so we teach beginners the card games as well! So if you don't know how to play Spades, no shame! You can still have a great time learning new games, grooving to the classic 80's/90's hits, and enjoying the crowd.
Each "A" Game features:
-Spades, UNO, War, and Gin
New games are welcome, too! Bid Whist, Dominoes, Cards Against Humanity and Black Card Revoked have been known to pop up in the past. What game will you play?! Check out the video below of some of the action, and make sure you don't miss the next one!
Why should you sponsor?
We have a strong following that brings out anywhere from 150 to nearly 300 people to the Brooklyn Tap House. They are enthusiastic young partygoers with money to spend and interests to broaden.
TheAGameBK TheAGameBKGleennia and Dee Dee, aka G&D, are two card lovin' chicks who one day, in the middle of a typical NYC snowstorm, started dreaming up the only type of party that would pull them out of their warm apartments on a cold Saturday afternoon. "I kinda just wanna play some spades -- like old-school family BBQ style and chill," Gleennia sighed. Always ready for a new adventure, Dee Dee hollered "why don't we just throw our own card party?!"
And that, my friends, is how The "A" Game was born.
Two years and five "A" Games later, G&D still have simple goals in mind for partygoers: play a classic card game - Spades, UNO, Gin Rummy - sing along to some classic Hip Hop and R&B, and get to know some cool people from all over the Tri-State area and beyond.
We hand out blow pops to all guests and always support our beloved Brooklyn by raffling off prizes from small, local businesses. Guests also enjoy food and drink specials on tap.
We've met hundreds of people at our events. We can't wait to meet you at the next one!
