Eileen Ye

My name is Eileen Ye, I am a senior at High School For Environmental Studies. I am going to University of Vermont to study plant biology and environmental engineering because I want to study the process of plant respiration to reduce the carbon emmsions by engineering a product to help with that. More than research and developing a product what needs to happen is the poltical climate change needs to change so we can move to more sustainable methods and carbon removing processes. The youth have a voice and we are going to use it.  I think we can change it. Throughout my highschool year I have done internships at New York Botanical Garden, Cornell Univeristy Extension, and a local elementary school. With my experience I was able to join my teacher, former teacher, former alumni as a student speaker at the Environmental Education Advisory Council Annual meeting to tall about youth and the role they can play, and sustainable argiculture. Various occasions I have represented my school at a DOE sustainablity event and Time Warner Earth Day fair. Believe in me and the youth and I promise you that you won't regret it.
