  • About the event

    About
Startup Weekend is a weekend-long event that allows anyone to turn an idea into reality. In just 54 hours, you will experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that make up life at a startup. Here you will look for a team, create a prototype of an idea, validate a business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs.

    Who is this for?
ANYONE! Think of it like a hackathon, but for designers, engineers, and business people.

    How does it work?
    • Friday evening: Share ideas & form teams around the top ideas
    • Saturday: Validate and build on the idea
    • Sunday evening: Pitch to a panel of judges

    About us
We are a small group of SCU students from the College of Arts and Sciences, the Leavey school of business, and the School of Engineering. We are builders, engineers, analysts, marketers, and designers. We came together from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, united by our passion for design thinking, determined to achieve one mission:

By bringing the Startup Weekend to Santa Clara University, we want to cultivate a culture of interdisciplinary education and collaboration, and ultimately ignite a culture of innovation.

    Why should you sponsor?

Techstars Startup Weekend is easily the biggest entry point for entrepreneurs to create a startup. These events are all organized by the local community.  Sponsoring a Startup Weekend is one of the best ways to support a your local community while engaging early stage businesses. Whether they’re developers, designers, or business focused, attendees build close relationships with the companies that sponsor.

    Sponsoring provides:

    • An immersive weekend to engage with entrepreneurs and users (great for market research and user testing).

    • A channel to hire and find new employees.
Exposure and marketing to early stage companies and entrepreneurs.

    • A platform to share API’s or relevant tools for entrepreneurs.
