Shooting Clerks tells the true story of how convenience store clerk Kevin Smith made his grainy $27,000 film Clerks with maxed-out credit cards and the people who aided him in his indie crusade.
The theatrical premiere event will be held in Kevin Smith's own cinema, SModcastle Cinemas in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey on August 13th, 2023. Kevin will be in attendance, as will several members of the cast and crew including writer director Christopher Downie and editor/producer Ryan James. Select Clerks cast members are also set to appear. The screening will be followed by a cast and crew Q & A with some mebers even taking to the lobby/street for meet and greets.
The release has long been anticipated after the filmmakers were featured on an episode of AMC's Comic Book Men in which they screen a rough cut of the movie to Kevin and the cast of Clerks. Smith was so taken by the film that it left him in tears as he praised the film's makers.
The screening will receive a lot of exposure, especially due to it's inclusion on AMC. Critics and press have all received invites to the event. Sponsors will also be listed on our ticketing site as well as our social media pages. The stars will be in attendance, as well as the film's focus - Kevin Smith himself.
