About the event

I am spearheading an effort to create a safe space for individuals to explore their wellness through R.E.A.D.Y., a retreat of engagement and discovering yourself.

On January 18, 2020 at the Integral Yoga Institute in NYC, 50+ influential people of color will come together for a highly curated day that takes participants on a journey of embracing their whole selves. This is a timely movement as people of color are more and more incorporating better mental health practices into their lives. 

This fast-paced world allows little time for one to pause and my team has worked hard to find dynamic speakers and workshop leaders who will help R.E.A.D.Y. participants realize the importance of self care.

Why should you sponsor?

READY participants will comprise of New York City women and men who are aligned on their journey of including wellness into their daily lives. 50+ dynamic people of color who value and are anticipating workshops focused on self care, forgiveness, meditation, nutrition and overall wellness.

There will be many potential new customers and brand ambassadors who will be attending this event.  This is an opportunity to get your product and services in front of women and men who are aligned on their journey of including wellness into their daily lives.  In addition to prime product placement at the event, READY4Wellness will share links to your product on our social media and email outreach.

Furthermore, READY is curated for and by people of color. All speakers and workshop leaders are people of color from health professions across the wellness spectrum including licensed Therapists, Social Workers, Certified Professional Coaches, Nutritionists, and Fitness Instructors.

Statistics show factors affecting access to treatment by members of diverse ethnic/racial groups include:

• Mental illness stigma, often greater among minority populations

• Lack of diversity among mental health care providers

• Lack of culturally competent providers

• Language barriers

• Distrust in the health care system

• Inadequate support for mental health service in safety net settings

READY is designed to tackle all of these barriers and to create a space and network of resources to continue the wellness journey towards a better future self.

Experiencing what I thought was a midlife crisis- laid off from work, no interest in my career path, no sense of passion, no real motivation to tackle the responsibilities I once valued. This is how I stumbled upon my wellness journey.  Ten years experience in Corporate America, part time Real Estate agent, single mother, financial provider, social butterfly… carrying the weight was normal until it wasn’t.  I began searching for happiness; booked vacations to free my mind, had one-on-ones with people I trusted, planned a small retreat to reflect on my life, and had meaningful discussions with friends.  I needed to understand who I was, what was important me and how to cope with the challenges I was facing. On this journey I was seeking happiness but in that search I found peace! My hope is that - through READY - you can find what you are searching for on your journey.
