About the event

The Race to Zero Carbon 5K & 10K will be Central Jersey's most fun, informative, and ecofriendly run this spring! In addition to the 5K and 10K, we're setting up the Zero Carbon Coaching Clinic. Think of it as a walk through flow chart that provides a systematic overview of what it will take for New Jersey to get ALL THE WAY to zero carbon. At various points along the route/chart, experts ("coaches") will be there to explain the details of each strategy (“play”) - and your role in it - to move the needle to zero carbon. This event is geared specifically to New Jersey. 

The goal of this event is to educate, empower and inspire people to go ALL THE WAY to zero carbon, ASAP. Indeed, we plan to turn "racing to zero carbon" into a national pastime, to shift the national mood from inertia and avoidance into full throttle racing to zero. This is going to scale. This is the first event of its kind. 

Why should you sponsor?

We invite you to support our event through monetary sponsorship or by donating goods. We are also recruiting "coaches" for every energy type (solar, wind, etc.), every strategy (like divestment, carbon fee and dividend, residential solar financing), and also sponsors for the event.

Footprint to Wings (FP2W) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2014. We are a new voice in righting climate change, and our mission is to create an institution that brings people together from all walks of life to win the Race to Zero Carbon, as fast as possible. Our organization is built around the power of games and the ability of human beings to overcome their differences by working together to win them. Our job is to clarify the game in all its glorious complexity, and to empower and awaken the players, the teams, and the love of this game. 

We're writing a Zero Carbon Playbook to deconstruct the game for everyone and help teams make the right plays on their quest for zero carbon. We're also developing Zero Carbon Coaching Clinics that can be taken on the road and tailored to specific communities.
