Unlike any other Domestic Violence Advocacy in the WORLD, Young Starr Movement utilizes MUSIC as the paltform.  Music therapy is a proven resource to help healing for those who may have expereinced any kind of trauma in their life.

    Why should you sponsor?

Founder Young Starr has personally experienced everything that this organization represents. Young Starr suffered many years of mental and physical abuse from a man she trusted and loved, she knew her story needed to be told. Liberating herself from shame by telling the world, she discovered she was not alone. Passionate about reaching out and helping others, she established the Young Starr Movement.

Our primary mission is to raise awareness about detrimental issues in our community such as gender violence and discrimination, domestic abuse and punishment, crimes against homeless people, and the importance of personal and emotional security and stability.

Through our programs, events and activities we are able to promote and inspire awareness, positive self-esteem, love and understanding as well as an aspiration for collective and individual engagement to help others.

    THE YOUNG STARR MOVEMENT

is a community-based organization attempting to moderate the negative impacts of domestic violence, homelessness, and sexual abuse on women, men, and children in New York City.

Established in 2009, our organization focuses on the development of personal security, emotional stability, and self-sufficiency, to individuals and families.

The Young Starr Movement offers innovative programs aimed at reversing the negative effects of silence and raising awareness about the issues affecting thousands of people in our community. Our programs, events, and activities strive to promote positive self-esteem, empowerment, love, understanding, and collective/individual engagement to help others.

Unlike any other domestic violence advocacy organization, Young Starr Movement provides music therapy to victims. This can often serve as a tool to help heal individuals that have suffered from domestic violence. Music Therapy is designed to reduce stress, improve coping, and process the trauma associated with the  crisis by drawing on a range of techniques including musical improvisation, songwriting, singing, sharing stories, and relaxing with music.

    Life Skills program:

A comprehensive life skills training and conflict resolution program geared toward meeting the needs of a variety of people who might be experiencing a life crisis. The program uses volunteers, corporate and celebrity speakers' series to teach valuable life skills (i.e. Motivation, Conflict Management, Drug Avoidance, Respect and Integrity, Leadership, Communication Skills, Money Management, Anger Management).

Give-N-Live Program- A civic responsibility training program that teaches youth the importance of community service, volunteerism and philanthropy.

Change the Sound Program: This is our workshop program that utilizes music of all genres to enhance the overall circumstance of the individual in a group or private setting. During our workshops, individuals can hear one another, share their stories, and bond through music relaxation techniques.

Your Company should 'give' your support to Young Starr Movement Inc. because this will allow us to continue to provide services mentioned above including but not limted to our yearly out door FREE events. Your dedication and donation will allow us to cover the cost associated with our services and outdoor Musoc therapy events. Your 'giving' of any kind will assist us to continue to spread the awareness and preventative information to those who so much NEED hope, Love and understanding, and most importantly CHANGING Lives, eeven if that Life is ONE Life ata atime.

    Ena Wong

I am a survivor and advocate against Domestic Violence and sexul abuse.

During my battle with a life threatning situation and being abused for many years as a child and an adult, I gained the strength and inner power that gave me the drive and persistence to overcome all the adversities I faced alone.

I raised three  children on my own without any public assistance or help from any outside sources. With the many challenges I faced of abuse I was determined to tell the WORLD I am living proof that one can and will overcome.

I have a sincere passion for people with acts and not talk.
