Project Purpose | 980 Miles in 7 Days
Project Purpose is an annual fundraising initiative built around extraordinary endurance challenges to raise money and awareness for charities that support serving military personnel, veterans, and their families. Each year, a different charity will benefit, ensuring the project continues to make a lasting impact across the Armed Forces community.
On 12th October, I will be attempting my first challenge: cycling 980 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End in just 7 days. Covering an average of 140 miles every day, this challenge will test my physical and mental resilience while raising vital funds for a cause that is close to my heart.
As a serving member of the Royal Navy, I understand the importance of the support these charities provide. This challenge is my way of giving back to the military community and encouraging others to support those who have served our country.
I am seeking sponsors to help make this challenge possible. Support can include financial sponsorship, cycling equipment, nutrition, accommodation, transport, or other products and services that will contribute to the success of the event.
In return, sponsors will receive exposure through:

This is more than a one-off event. Project Purpose is designed to become an annual challenge, with a different charity benefiting each year. Supporting the inaugural event gives sponsors the opportunity to become founding partners of a long-term initiative with the potential to grow year after year.
Whether your support comes through financial contributions, equipment, services, accommodation, nutrition, transport, or other resources, every sponsorship directly helps make the challenge possible and increases the amount that can be donated to charity.
Together, we can turn 980 miles into lasting support for those who have dedicated their lives to serving others.
About Me
My name is Peter Harwood, and I am a serving member of the Royal Navy with a passion for pushing my limits through endurance challenges while making a positive difference.
I founded Project Purpose to combine personal challenge with meaningful fundraising. The aim is to complete extraordinary endurance events that raise awareness and funds for charities supporting serving military personnel, veterans, and their families. Each year, Project Purpose will take on a new challenge while supporting a different charity, creating a lasting legacy of giving back.
My first challenge is to cycle 980 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End in just 7 days, an event that will test my physical and mental resilience while helping raise vital funds for those who have dedicated their lives to serving others.
I believe that with determination, discipline, and the support of generous sponsors and donors, even the most demanding challenges can create a real and lasting impact. Through Project Purpose, I hope to inspire others to challenge themselves, support worthwhile causes, and show that every mile can make a difference.
