I became the Director of Miss Caribbean and Commonwealth in 2019, taking over one of the UK's longest-running pageants after being a former title holder myself. Having experienced the competition first-hand, I understand the importance of creating opportunities that help women grow in confidence, leadership, and personal development.

Since taking over, I have successfully produced five Miss Caribbean and Commonwealth events, continuing the event's 45-year legacy while introducing new ideas, stronger branding, and a greater focus on community impact.

Outside of the pageant industry, I work in media and brand development and am the Editor of Uzuri Magazine, a luxury lifestyle publication. My experience in media, marketing, and branding has helped me build a professional platform that gives contestants valuable exposure and provides sponsors with meaningful opportunities to promote their brands.

I am passionate about delivering a high-quality event that celebrates Caribbean and Commonwealth cultures, supports women and girls, and creates genuine value for everyone involved. Sponsors can be confident that they are partnering with an experienced organiser who is committed to professionalism, integrity, and delivering a successful event every year.  Shirley De Lawrence
