About the event
June 28th will mark the 5th installment of the MMA Platinum Gloves series - MMA on Long Island. The MMA Platinum Gloves was developed to showcase local amateur MMA talent from right here on Long Island.
On March 29th, The MMA Platinum Gloves held an event at the Sports Arena in St. James in front of over 600 fans. The Sports Arena is now the official home for the MMA promotion as it will hold another 3 events there in 2014; June 28th, September 6th and November 1st.
Fans can enjoy 10 exciting MMA fights featuring local talent from the tri-state area. Most of these fighters have grown up right here on Long Island, in both Nassau and Suffolk counties. Fans will also enjoy music throughout the night as well as food and drink, including beer. Fans will also receive an event program with coupons from local businesses.
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) has become the fastest growing sport in the world and there are hundreds of MMA gyms right here on Long Island with thousands of fans that would love to see live MMA. Every event has seen its attendance increase and they are expecting over 800 fans at the next event in June.
