  • About the event

The Latke Festival is a celebrated NYC food event bringing together top chefs, celebrity judges, tastemakers and food lovers to ring in the holidays, enjoy creative food and drink, and vote for the Best Latke in NYC! Chefs create their own interpretation of a latke or potato pancake — whether it be sweet or savory, healthy or indulgent, classic or with a unique twist. Latke Festival has garnered a cult following, providing an essential holiday experience for well-connected New Yorkers.

Net proceeds benefit The Sylvia Center (TSC), a nonprofit organization that inspires young people to become healthy eaters and advocates for healthy food in their families and communities. TSC’s programs address the epidemic of childhood obesity and diet-related diseases by providing free cooking classes to children, teens, and families living in NYC public housing. Through hands-on experiences in the kitchen and on the farm, TSC’s students learn about real, healthy food and how to plan, grocery shop, prepare and cook their own meals. The Latke Festival is essential to raising funds to provide free education to underprivileged youth and families in New York City.
