About the event
Senior Housing Options works tirelessly to provide housing and services to seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout Colorado. As part of that effort, one thing we believe is essential to our residents’ mental health is their connections to animals. Our residents are allowed to have pets in both our subsidized-apartments and assisted-living communities. And some properties either have dogs that live on site or have managers that bring their pets in on a regular basis.
Another way of expanding this idea, and our relationship to our LoDo community, is inviting our neighbors to participate in a Dog Costume Contest on Halloween at one of our most notable assisted-living communities, The Barth Hotel. The Barth is located two blocks from Union Station at the intersection of 17th& Blake. Though a Dog Costume Contest will be a brand-new event for SHO, the Barth has been home to our largest annual fundraiser for 10 years (a summer play, in which hundreds of people attend).
We believe that this new event really has the legs to take off! Through online marketing, social media, and physical fliers, we expect to reach thousands of people. We have 2,000 contacts on our email marketing list alone. As a sponsor for our Howl-O-Ween: Strut Your Mutt Dog Costume Contest, your logo will be on all our ad work and you could be a judge on our panel!

Cait BarnettMy name is Cait Barnett - I am the Resource Development & Marketing Manager for Senior Housing Options. Though I am new to my role in the organization, I have been with SHO for more than a year and a half and truly believe in our mission. With our 12 communities, we help provide housing and services to nearly 500 residents. Many of them have come from homelessness and would be there again if it weren't for SHO.
It is my personal goal to build SHO's recognition in the community and funds for our amazing programs!
