Living with chronic pain is something few people understand and yet many people suffer from. In the U.S. 116 million people have their daily lives disrupted by a variety of chronic pain conditions. Most of these people suffer in silence because of misdiagnosis and widespread misunderstanding about their condition.

Here’s what they live with.

Can you imagine such intense pain that you spend up to half your day recovering from the few ordinary activities you did in the morning?

Imagine not being able to think clearly because the pain in your body was just so intense or you were overwhelmed with fatigue.

Imagine long sleepless nights where you lie awake wrestling with pain – burning, stabbing, numbing, intense pain – with parts of your body just too painful to touch.

The bottom line however is that chronic pain and fibromyalgia will impact a patient’s personal life, family life and level of intimacy in their relationships.

We know that women make up 80-90% of sufferers and that African Americans are more affected than Caucasians.  Perhaps you or someone you know suffers from chronic pain but maybe you don’t know very much about it.

It’s important to know that there are ways to treat and manage these conditions; that suffering can be alleviated to some degree.

So I’d like to invite you to learn more! And a great place to start is at the Break the Shackles of Chronic Pain Event on May 14, 2016 at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha Wisconsin.
