About the event

With so many local schools still battling with finding adequate financing, regardless the reasons, it is evident that the learners are still the ones suffering from it. We at Mingcele Africa have been pondering for a while on ways to assist underprivileged schools in South-Africa.
One of the ways we assist is to generate donations for Workbooks and Teacher Guides on a non-profit basis. The books contain relevant Worksheets and Lesson Plans which we believe will benefit learners and teachers. Mingcele Africa has been requested to distribute 1 125 Workbooks and Teacher Guides to the underprivileged schools in South-Africa.
The aim is to generate enough donations to hand these books over for the year of 2016. Mingcele Africa has obtained a short-list of schools we know are finding it difficult to raise funds for teaching resources, but donors are welcome to nominate a school of their choice. Preference will be given to schools that are in dire need of resources.
All readily available resources include:
- Life Skills Lesson Plans (Grades 1 to 3);
- Life Skills Workbooks (Grades 1 to 3);
- Mathematics Lesson Plans (Grades 1 to 7);
- Mathematics Workbooks (Grades 1 to 7);
- Mental Mathematics Workbooks (Grades 2 to 6)
Different quantities of these materials are available and donations will be distributed accordingly for schools to receive the best possible materials or combination thereof.
Donations will be used to cover the incurred production cost and delivery to each school. Delivery will be made to all nominated schools to ensure it reaches them before the start of the 2016 school year.
Donors will receive a special thank you gift from Mingcele Africa as a thank you for making a difference in the lives of these learners. Donation gift structure:

Entities with the ability to donate any other resources or stationary are welcome to collaborate with Mingcele Africa. Mingcele Africa will run a donation scheme for schools throughout 2016 to assist as many underprivileged schools as possible in obtaining Grade R, Mathematics and Life Skills resources.
Donors will be updated with a Mingcele Africa Newsletter to communicate the difference they have made in various communities. Where possible, Mingcele Africa will attempt to involve the media and award credits to all donating companies and individuals, unless the donors choose to stay anonymous.
