About the event
ECET2NJPA stands for New Jersey and Pennsylvania Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers. What it means is a deep commitment to growing, nurturing, and leveraging the abilities of each individual educator in both states. We provide a convening experience where the sole focus is on using the combined power of each invitee in the room to strengthen individual pedagogy, knowledge, relationships, and trust.
Best of all, we’re free. The logistics for each piece of this convening are paid for through a grant written to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and generous sponsorship from a number of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and national organizations. Maureen DanovskyI am just one of several dedicated educators on the steering committee for ECET2NJPA, I have been involved with ECET2NJPA since 2015 when I was first asked to present on how I introduce my elementary students to coding. After (surviving) that first experience outside of my own district, I was asked to present at other conferences, and to also join the organizing team for the ECET2NJPA 2016 event. I am happy to be part of the team again this year, as we will now be having TWO convenings--one in the fall September 30-October 1, 2017, and one again in the spring, March 3-4, 2018.

Maureen Danovsky (“Mo Dano”) is a gifted and talented teacher in Hillsborough, NJ. This year marks her 30th year in education, where she has taught in grades two to six. She has a certificate in Gifted Education from Rutgers University and is currently working towards her Master’s degree at UConn for Educational Psychology with an emphasis on Giftedness, Talent Development, and Creativity. Among her activities, she has been a member of her district’s Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, facilitated the Student Council, coordinated service learning projects, and is also a strong believer in talent development for students of all ages and ability levels. She attended and presented at her first ECET2/NJPA in 2015, and is inspired to be part of the steering committee this year. You can follow her on Twitter at @MaureenDano.
