About the event
Seven years ago the Dirty Dancing Festival started as a pieced together effort by a few fans in Lake Lure North Carolina, where much of the classic movie was filmed. It has since grown into a massive gathering of fans from all over the world. The movie and its story are timeless, as is the fan dedication to the movie as this festival has proven year after year.
This year, Lake Lure will be one of the filming locations for the recently announced remake of Dirty Dancing. We anticipate our largest and most widely publicized event this year. Once again thousands of fans, families, and press will decend upon the small town of Lake Lure for the original and only Dirty Dancing Festival for the seventh straight year.
