Day of Dads,

About the event

Our vision for the Day of Dads is to see a rainbow of our black and brown men coming together to celebrate fatherhood, brotherhood and togetherness. Most importantly, having outdoor fun with their children and families.  Day of Dads participants will be anyone who enjoys great family time, great music, fun games, invigorating outdoor festivals, delicious food, and community. Profits from the event will be used to promote as well as expand the Dr. Charles A. Johnson, Jr Foundation's outreach both domestic and abroad. The Day of Dads event will entertain and educate the attendees on the continued importance of positive male figures within the community and encourage our men to engage in self care albeit medical and mental health; just to name a few. 

Why should you sponsor?

Day of Dads will consist of multiple team sports as well as relay races that will take place on the various fields. Additionally, we will offer carnival style attractions which will provide fun for the entire family. There will also be a "Small Business Square" where we will give opportunity to minority businesses to vend and showcase their products or organization.

A sponsor should support this event because they will not only be supporting a sincere vision but also benefit from the opportunity of having their business or organization reaching new customers from varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. 

Emerlyn Deline

My name is Emerlyn Deline-Johnson; a single mother to two beautiful little souls, Charles Aubrey (5) and Chad Caden (3). In January 2019 we lost our husband and father who is the inspiration for re-launching his foundation (Dr. Charles A. Johnson, Jr Foundation) and the 1st Annual Day of Dads. Though I wear many hats my most important hat is that of a mom and ensuring that I'm providing with enough love and care.  No matter how much I do, I can never fill the void of their father in their young lives. 

"You never miss a good thing until its gone" has been no truer in my life than now.  The role of a father in his children's lives regardless of their gender is so paramount to their upbringing.  I really want to create an environment, through this event, where men can feel honored, appreciated and needed.  I believe deep down in my soul that Day of Dads can and will be an amazing event with  the right support.  My potential sponsors can trust that I will utilize their donations for the intended purpose as I would like to build and maintain a lasting relationship beneficial to both parties.
