  • About the event

School leaders in education increasingly recognise the need to plan and assess efforts to incorporate intercultural learning on a whole-school level whilst at the same time developing high quality academic learning, yet few resources informed by sound research and proven practice exist.

At the CIS Australian Symposium, presenters from the university and school communities versed in the latest research and successful practice will lead interactive sessions and workshops incorporating practical ideas that school leaders can implement. World renowned experts, school leaders and students will lead keynote sessions for all attendees in addition to facilitating two strands to synthesise and draw out key ideas and findings across related sessions.

In addition to an exciting line-up of keynote and plenary sessions, participants will have the opportunity to dive deeply into one of the following topics:

    • Strand A: Leading Learning - In this strand participants will be able to share the experiences of academics, leading practitioners and organisational leaders in the fields of organisational culture, standards based assessment, and pedagogical innovation on developing high quality student learning.
    • Strand B: Global Citizenship for a Better World - In this strand participants will have the opportunity to debate, share experiences and meet with young people who have used their global citizenship competencies to develop meaningful, and often innovative and empowering community engagement. Participants will be enveloped in the world of Service Learning, Community Engagement and Social Enterprise.

By attending the Symposium you will have the opportunity to interact with experienced international school leaders, researchers, and thought leaders involved in innovative and proven practice that promotes intercultural learning in schools.
