About the event

Circo de la Luna is a cross-cultural Circus embracing love, cultural and galactic exploration, and exaltation of spirit.  It is meant to share the beauty of Spanish music and Latin culture with all audiences, as well as to inspire youth to explore the beauty of other cultures and other galaxies – near or far.

Circo de la Luna was created by NYC aerialist Amanda Topaz with the flamenco dancer Sonia Olla.  Sonia dances in the show accompanied by her husband the famous cantor Ismael Fernandez.  Aerial choreography is created by Sonia Olla and Ballet Hispanico choreographer, Pedro Ruiz.  Mark Lonergan  ( Big Apple Circus) has signed on as Director.  Acts will include comedy by Mark Gindick (Wingman and Big Apple Circus), Bolo by AJ Silver (Hungarian National Circus), Aerial Moon and Silk by Amanda Topaz (Rockitaerials), Aerial Hoop by Sarah Sophie Flicker (Citizen’s Band), and Contortion by the Venizelos Sisters Anna and Emily (former Cirque du Soleil). 

Circo de la Luna celebrates the love of foreign neighbors, culture, music and dance - especially Flamenco.  We are a part of the New Victory Theater Labworks Program (2015-2016) and are endorsed by the World Music Institute.
