Bad Film Fest is interested in unique, interesting, funny and unusual content. 

Each year we typically receive over 300 submission of short films. We keep submission fees low (including student discounts) to make the festival to accessible to all.

Calling our festival "Bad" was a clever choice to ensure we get a lot of press attention, it also opens us up to receive a wide variety of submissions in terms of genre, budget, skill level, location and more. 

We curate a fun event and aim to show our audience something they least expect.

Shawn Wickens (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Mr. Robot, Blue Bloods) is an award-winning comedian and co-founder of NYC’s ironically-titled Bad Theater Fest and Bad Film Fest.

Time Out New York says, “Expect a set that hilarious, delirious and refreshingly raw.” His shows have been Critics’ Picks by Pittsburgh City Paper, Rochester City News, and The Athens News.
