DEAR BUSINESS,
The “Ingham County Animal Shelter Fund” (ICASF) is a 501 (c)-3, recently established to financially support special programs at the animal shelter and raise money to build a new and improved state of the art animal shelter building for InghamCounty. The current shelter building is outdated and badly in need of repair. Thousands of animals as well as hundreds of volunteers, adopters, and community members come through the doors of the Ingham County Animal Shelter each year.
This year, our 2nd Annual Halloween Party, themed “Zombie Prom” will be held on Saturday, October 24th at the University Club in EastLansing.
Our goal for this year’s event is to raise $15,000 toward the $6.5 million that we will ultimately need to design and build our new animal shelter. A recently completed design study estimated this to be the cost of designing, acquiring land for, and building an animal shelter facility with the desired capacity and efficiency that we envision for our county. Proceeds from this event will provide us with funds needed to invest in a Capital Campaign to raise the full amount.
We plan to publicly announce the Zombie Prom on Monday, August 17th. Promotions will include press releases, advertisements in local newspapers and on television, store front posters, as well as a strong presence on social media (Twitter and Facebook). In 2014, we worked with a number of media sponsors to achieve maximum coverage. Additionally, the Ingham County Animal Shelter Facebook page has over 11,000 fans that will receive event information.
We are expecting 300 guests at the event. The event will begin with a VIP Reception. All guests will walk the “Dead Carpet” and will have the opportunity to be photographed by a professional photographer. Inside, guests will enjoy music, cash bar, all you can eat pizza bar, costume contest, caricatures, fortune tellers, chair massages, professional makeup application, a silent auction, and much more.
