About the event

 Yukigassen in the UK. Yukigassen is an officially recognised sport in Japan and largely unheard outside the country.

A game of snowball throwing with strategy and rules. Each team of 7 players and the prepared snowballs battle each other for three periods of three minutes to find the winner who is the team with the most players left on the court or the one to have captured the oppositions flag. 

Subject to discussion with the sponsor, I would envisage creating a regional event whereby teams would submit a proposal as to why they should participate, and the chosen teams would play each other in a league over a long weekend to find an eventual winner.

Would propose the event would be situated at a regional destination such as Shopping Centre or visitor attraction with existing footfall, the publicised event will be of both benefit to the host venue and the venue the event.

The sport is very visual and is sure to attract much attention on social media as a result of both the spectacle of the sport, the uniqueness of the event and the fact its all using real snow.

Anyone can participate in the activity as no specific skills are required other than throw a snowball - all ages and abilities can participate equally.
