About the event
The event is a summit organised to foster enterprise development in Nigeria, a nation with very high rate of unemployment and poverty. We want to empower youths for job creation. We also want to empower them to create innovative and sustainable solutions to problems in Nigeria and Africa at large

Abimbola OligbindeThe Convener of the summit, Abimbola Oligbinde, is a Brands and Communications Consultant with over 10 years experience in Branding, Marketing, Customer Relations, Public Relations and Journalism She runs a Marketing Communications firm called Melethsey Media Ltd, a business borne out of her passion to empower small and medium businesses for growth. While covering the business beat as a journalist, Abimbola became familiar with the challenges confronting enterprises in Nigeria and their struggle to survive. In 2014, she decided to set up a business which would solve two of the major problems confronting SMEs in Nigeria; access to markets and access to funding. Her company connects SMEs to angel investors willing to provide seed funding for them. It also connects them to large markets through tailor-made promotions and marketing. The company was selected among the best 1000 startups in Africa by the Tony Elumelu Foundation to participate in the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme. Abimbola is the publisher of Echo News Online, an online news magazine. She is the convener, Youthpreneur Business Summit and Young Women in Business Africa. She is also a fellow of the Obama Young African Leaders Initiative (West Africa)

The project focuses on learning, sharing of ideas and mentoring for young entrepreneurs between 18 and 35 years. The project, which aims to enhance enterprise development in Nigeria, will run for ten years. We hope to impact 20,000 businesses through mentoring, partnerships, capacity development and funding. Women-owned businesses would get 55 per cent of the funding. Youth-owned businesses can access funding through annual YOUTHPRENEUR BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION. Awardees are carefully selected based on innovations, value-addition, marketability of products &services and sustainability. Applications are received based on announcements. MISSION Our mission is to accelerate the impact of the young Nigerian entrepreneurs by uniting them with essential partners in a collaborative pursuit of learning, leverage, and funding. VISION Our vision is to help in creating an industrialized Nigeria built by a vibrant Small and Medium Enterprise Sector. The summit, which holds on AUGUST 16, 2016, will create a platform for young entrepreneurs to learn from industry experts and successful but young entrepreneurs. It will also create a platform for networking and business-to-business partnerships. We are giving seed grants to entrepreneurs with innovative ideas that can transform the country.
