About the event
On September 30, Young Heroes will take over the famed Chez Panisse restaurant to present its annual "Our Hero" award to Nell Newman -- the founder of Newman's Own Organics -- for her extraordinary support of our programs to support AIDS orphans in the kingdom of Swaziland, the nation with the world's highest rate of HIV.
Young Heroes now supports over 1,000 orphans in 70 Swazi communities with three programs:
• Monthly stipends for necessities such as food, clothing and school fees;
• Comprehensive healthcare, including clinic visits, free medication, and monthly support groups and annual camps for HIV+ youth;
• Vocational and business training for orphans after they turn 19 or complete secondary school,
