Young Business United,

Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines

  • About the event

For the first time in over 20 years, the Federation of the Philippine American Chambers of Commerce will be taking a select group of young leaders interested in exploring the opportunities in the high growth market of the Philippines through the 2016 Trade Mission.

The Young Business United (YBU) program not only includes participating in the Philippine Business Conference in Manila, but it also includes a cultural immersion tour in Palawan and a summit on how the next generation leaders will shape the future of the Philippines and US. The YBU program calls upon young leaders, entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, students, community builders and young government officials age 40 and under.

With over 9 partnering youth organizations from both countries, all will sign MOUs to stay committed as a collaborated effort to execute the action items discussed within the YBU summit

Within 4 sectors: Business, Government, Arts and Culture, and Humanitarian/Community, the YBU program will create concrete steps on how the young Filipinos will shape their vision of the Philippines by 2030

We're connecting the 2nd generation Filipino Americans in the USA to work together with young leaders in the Philippines to create a unified mobilization of youth to be involved in the Philippines. They should be looking to...

    • Be part of history. YBU delegates will prepare a plan for 2030 to increase commerce, influence, and efforts in the Philippines
    • Meet and work with the newly elected President Duterte and his administration to understand the current state of the Philippines
    • Network with key influencers and entrepreneurs to explore and understand the opportunities in growing trends in creative industries, IT and tech, agriculture (bamboo, cacao, etc), and humanitarian and social enterprises
    • Organize with other young leaders in the US affiliated with community, business, and government initiatives.

    Why should you sponsor?

Invest in the youth, invest in the future.

In 2014, the Philippines has a median age of 23, (compared to Japan of 46 years and US of 37 years) with projections of age 29 in 2030. With a young population, the country can benefit from a large working class that has the desire to spend on consumer goods, possibly creating a middle class.

There is a rapid shift from rural Philippines to urban Philippines, with Manila trending to become a “megacity” or a city with more than 10 million people, majority will be young Filipinos as the working class, creating businesses and leaders of communities

As an acclaimed “rising tiger,” the Philippines has a very healthy economy in 2016. With this continued growth, the Philippines can reach a robust $1 trillion economy by 2030, with a focus on youth-related industries: infrastructure, tourism, trade, and disruptive technology.
