About the event

 The YAP Honors Ball features speed networking, delicious H'ordeuvres, entertainment, honoree recognition and a keynote speech. Our vision is to continuously celebrate and honor young African professionals here in Houston who are making a difference and building a better tomorrow, locally and in the African continent, while focusing on a new initiative each year. Through your partnership with YAP, you will not only encourage and empower current professionals and entrepreneurs of African descent and those who share an interest in Africa but also empower our effort to support education within the community. Our goals are clear—to honor current pioneers in their respective fields who are making an impact on the continent and promote a culture of investing in our people and in our communities.

Why should you sponsor?

YAP strives to focus on different aspects of the community. Last year, a portion of YAP’s Honors Ball proceeds went towards building a small business/entrepreneurship center (the
Opportunity Cafe and Hub) at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria. This year, the YAP initiative is education. In addition to supporting Houston schools through our iEducate partnership, our goal is to give a scholarship to a deserving high school and college student. Such cause fuels YAP’s purpose of leading the way for innovative ideas that are focused on empowering and changing the African narrative while also uplifting our surrounding community. As an esteemed community leader, we would be honored for you and/or your company to join forces with our organization to ensure for a successful event.
