About the event

Wordz-N-Soundz is an innovative platform providing artists of all calibre the opportunity to come together and participate in a Live Showcase. Alexander “DMVPOET” Butler has partnered with The Hill Center, Georgetown Sportz Zone, and Artiz Art Gallery in the past to put together an amazing show of Live Performances. This show combines an eclectic blend of Live Musicians, Vocalists, Spoken Word Artists, and Live Painters to provide the audience an opportunity to get to know the artists in an intimate setting as well as give the opportunity to the Community to connect with new local independent artists.

Why should you sponsor?

As Wordz-N-Soundz grows so does the overhead. We've been able to work with venues in the Washington, DC area to establish a regular monthly event that has grown massively amongst our local community. To keep up with this growth, we would love to be able to provide resources at the event to build the artists up including a Videographer/Photographer on board for every show. It would also be great to be able to vend branded products (T-Shirts, Book Bags, Notebooks, etc), as well as setup a sustainable website/blog to keep fans all over the web updated on each upcoming event/event recaps. Wordz-N-Soundz focuses on new upcoming artists as well as more established brands but always the Independent Art scene in the DC/MD/VA area enriching the arts community.

Alexander Butler

A native of the DMV area, Alexander began expressing himself at an early age performing original Poetry and songs with his family/friends as an audience. As time progressed and with the support of those around him he began taking his performance and writing skills to newer and larger heights including local Open Mic’s sharing his own unique style of Spoken Word Poetry as well as developing a passion for acting and theatre. As time progressed so did his body of work which included roles on Nationally Syndicated Television Shows, local Theatre Festivals, and short films. DMVPOET’s passion has been Wordz-N-Soundz, a local Showcase in the DMV area that provides a platform for local artists that are new and have larger familiar brands to come together and contribute their art to enrich the community.
