WMCA Freezin' for a Reason Partner Plunge,

Wilson Lake, Wilton, Maine, United States Wilson Lake, Wilton, Maine, United States

  • About the event

Polar Plunge (Partner Plunge) is a unique opportunity for individuals & organizations to help ensure WMCA and our 2016 community partners have the necessary resources to continue to respond quickly and effectively to a variety of needs.

WMCA hosts the event each year, inviting local non profits and community organizations to join us by recruiting their own plunge team members and soliciting pledges for their team. On event day we award prizes to teams for various things - best costume, most funds raised etc.  After the event WMCA reports out to all partners the total they raised and their share amount – Every partner will keep 50-70% of the funds they raise to go toward their organization’s efforts! The more their team earns in pledges, the higher the share amount.  The team raising the most funds gets to keep 100% of what they raised to go toward their agency's mission.

    Current 2016 partners include: (8/4/16)

    • Care & Share Food Closet
    • Farmington Recreation Dept.
    • Western Maine Play Museum
    • Western Maine Homeless Outreach
    • Technoldie Services
    • United Methodist Economic Ministry

WMCA's Reason for Freezin’ in 2016 will be to provide home repair services for low income households in Franklin County. Maine is ranked among states with the oldest housing stock in the nation, and WMCA recognizes an increasing need for home repairs that directly affect the health and safety of the dwelling’s occupants. WMCA has chosen to bolster this effort to ensure that necessary home repairs can be completed. The majority of repairs will prioritize elderly and/or veteran households.

    Why should you sponsor?

Supporters don’t give to us; they give through us.

Investing in Families & The Community at Large

    • In 2015, WMCA provided Housing services for 408 Households. Home Repair, Weatherization and Central Heat Improvement allow these families to be healthier, safer, warmer and save their limited resources for other needs.
    • WMCA used 26 local vendors in making these improvements. Contractors, plumbers, heating and cooling technicians and weatherization crews live, work and play here. With expenditures of more than $814,000 last year to area businesses, we are strengthening our local economy.

    Why Sponsor Our Event?

    • JOIN THE MOVEMENT - To change lives & make an impact for struggling families, elderly and veterans.
    • GIVE BACK - To your community by helping those who need it most.
    • INCREASE - Your brand exposure & elevate your corporate identity within the community.
    • STRENGTHEN - Your company’s reputation as a good corporate citizen to your customers, employees and local residents.
