The Windrush 75th Anniversary Celebration Event will take place on 28th June 2023 at the prestigious London Transport Museum. This event holds immense importance in honoring the contributions of the Windrush generation to rebuilding Britain after World War 2. We are expecting an illustrious guest list, including politicians, dignitaries, Windrush pioneers, community leaders, and prominent business figures. The event will be hosted by Eddie Nestor (BBC London).

Our guest speakers include esteemed individuals:

• Sam Mullins, Director of the London Transport Museum
• Patrick Vernon OBE
• Dr Navina Evans - Chief Workforce, Training and Education Officer, NHS

This is an invitation-only gathering, ensuring an intimate and exclusive environment for attendees to reflect on the incredible accomplishments of the Windrush generation.

To ensure a wider reach and impact, The event will be filmed as part of a documentary and streamed live for those unable to attend.  In addition, we have confirmed media outlets, i newspaper, Channel 4 News and the Guardian in attendance.  This will enable those who are unable to attend physically to be part of the commemoration. Furthermore, the event will produce content for educational purposes, contributing to the preservation and dissemination of Windrush history and heritage.

We are expecting 170 guests in total.

In addition to our arts mentoring initiatives, NuDawn CIC has played a crucial role in assisting victims of the Windrush scandal.  Recognising the urgency and importance of helping those affected, we have actively supported individuals in completing their compensation forms and locating the necessary documents to prove their right to remain in the UK.  Through our compassionate and dedicated approach, we have empowered and uplifted these individuals, helping them navigate the bureaucratic complexities and restore their sense of belonging.
