About the event

Presently, a small group of William Penn Alumni are planning a reunion for June 19th 2015. This reunion in particular is special because it will one of the last...if not THE last reunion that will take place while the school is still standing. As you may already know, Temple University has purchased the property and has plans to demolish it. We have worked very hard to gather everyone and plan our reunion. So far we've raised enough money to place a deposit on a venue. I really am not good at writing and I'm not fully savvy on creating proposals. But I wanted to reach out to you because I listen to your show and you seem to truly care about the community. This school like many schools that have closed has a soul. We are hurt to see that our future generations will not know the great things and people that William Penn was responsible for molding and shaping. With a world renown track and field team, to an elaborate TV Studio, this community gem will fade away because of money and honestly a lack of concern for the children in the community.
