    ABOUT BROTHER BILL’S

FAITH IS THE FOUNDATION. HOPE IS THE RESULT.

Brother Bill's Helping Hand enriches the lives of men, women, and children in the community of West Dallas by empowering through learning, encouraging through relationships, and ensuring the essentials of life.

    Why should you sponsor?

Brother Bill's Helping Hand brings not just a legacy of 75 years of service to West Dallas, but hope for a better life to the more than 25,000 people living in the 75212 zip code.  As a Christian nonprofit, that hope comes in the form of Education, Health, and Essentials of Life programs.  Partnering caring volunteers with neighbors in need brings nourishment of the mind, body, and soul to all involved.

A very important aspect of Brother Bill's Helping Hand is the realization of how much the staff and volunteers learn from the neighbors served.  West Dallas is a community of caring people, willing to share whatever they might have.  A large majority of our Brother Bill's Helping Hand neighbors are strong in their faith and committed members of their community.  Their physical needs may be great, but their faith in the Lord is an inspiration to all.

In April 2012 Brother Bill's Helping Hand moved into a new building located in the center of West Dallas.  Building Hope on a Firm Foundation was the goal when construction began on the new facilty in August 2011.  Today in the larger and more centralized location, Brother Bill's Helping Hand is blessed each day to see even more lives changed for the present and for eternity.

The majority of operational funding for Brother Bill's Helping Hand comes from individuals; the balance comes from foundations, corporations, and churches.  Brother Bill's Helping Hand is led by a Board of Trustees, the Executive Director and a staff of eleven.  A host of volunteers teach classes, work in the free Grocery Store, lead children’s programs, and help the staff maintain the facility.  Our Women’s Council acts as a support organization for all Brother Bill's Helping Hand does in the community of West Dallas.
