The Salvation Army is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of individuals and families that are homeless or poverty stricken without discrimination. We have been dedicated to this mission for 150 years and now meet human needs in over 126 countries. In Tucson alone, we provide services to children, young adults, low-income, homeless, elderly and Veterans. The services consist of shelter, food boxes, youth camps, after-school programs, back-to-school necessities, transitional housing, case management, referrals, and utility and rental assistance, just to name a few.
The Salvation Army is hosting a Walk-a-thon called Kettle Krush Walk for Youth at Reid Park on May 9th to raise funds for the youth programs in the Tucson community. We have over 200 children and young adults that would like to participate in the walk but need your help. “Most of the children we serve in the Tucson community are from low-income families and poverty stricken. The Salvation Army provides a safe place for them to come after school, receive tutoring for school, participate in character building activities and are able to go to day and summer camp. This is something these kids do not normally have the opportunity for otherwise,” says Shawna Kroh, Public Relations Director for The Salvation Army.
We would like to ask that you consider becoming one of our 2015 Corporate Sponsors and sponsor a child by making a monetary donation. As a sponsor, you will receive positive media attention from your association with The Salvation Army, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Along with branding and media attention, if you sponsor $1,000 or more, you can set up a vendor booth at Reid Park to promote your services. All donations go towards youth programs for the Tucson community children. Your corporation’s support will make it possible for The Salvation Army to help children less fortunate have opportunities not otherwise provided.
