Interested in supporting an exciting afternoon of action-packed VR competitions? This is the event which will bring over 100 seniors and their families in the Greater Toronto Area to participate in the latest technology innovations in long-term care. This competition is open to community members of all ages who will compete against each other in various VR games to raise funds for the Active Senior Program, which has helped thousands of seniors develop an active and healthy lifestyle. There will also be singing and musical performances, as well as a raffle and prizes to win! We will have free refreshments and photos provided.
In addition, these funds will help maintain and the expand the services of the Virtual Reality for Seniors Program that has helped many seniors across the GTA gain access to advancing technology and challenge the misconception that technology is too complicated for seniors to use.
As a sponsor for our event, you will help bridge the gap between seniors and technology and help them live a healthier and happier quality of life. As the largest non-profit nursing home in the country, you will be a part of a forward-thinking initiative to help seniors become engaged and excited about technology, contributing to a resilient and healthy community.
While the use of VR technology with seniors is not a new endeavor, most applications tend to have a clinical focus and target seniors with cognitive impairments. The Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care has been a pioneer in the GTA in developing a community-based program for seniors using VR to promote social interaction, sensorimotor stimulation, and overall engagement with technology.
With the ever-growing senior population in Canada, they need your support more than ever. It will be the sponsors like you who are able to help seniors, a crucial part of any community, adapt and appreciate the changing needs of society.
