About the event

Vauxhall Village Presents Summer Screen is a series of free to the public outdoor film screenings for summer 2015. The community of Londoners are able to come together to enjoy a free film with their friends and family under the stars. The project is part of the wider regeneration scheme happening in the area, but is focused on people appreciating their local green spaces and and creating a safe space for all types of people to come together.

This event has gained popularity across the last two summers but this year we need more funding to keep this asset going for all those who love it. Last year we had over 20,000 people attend the events in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens over 6 screenings which included; mean girls, slum dog millionaire and the big Lebowski. The film screenings are also a great showcase for local independent street food vendors to get their name out and attract a new following.

Vauxhall Village Presents Summer Screen is a fantastic asset to the local neighborhood and to the London wide community. It is completely inclusive as it is totally free and everyone is sat together which creates a wonderful atmosphere. This year I would love to add in children's films on a Saturday afternoon so that parents can bring their children to enjoy the park in the day time. This means a more expensive LED screen as opposed to the usual projector equipment used.
