United2Heal's 8th Annual Fundraising Gala,

About the event

On April 4th 2020, we will hold our 8th Annual Fundraising Gala. This event will consist of a live and silent auctions. We hope to attract  professionals from the Richmond area, its surrounding communities, and the communities of our diverse members. Proceeds will go directly towards replenishing the supplies we are in constant need of to keep our efforts going. This includes our warehouses that requires a large volume of shelves, pallets, boxes, and additional supplies, along with transportation and shipment expenses.

Why should you sponsor?

United2Heal started during the Fall of 2011 with a simple vision: "Collecting surplus medical supplies from local hospitals and shipping them to areas in need around the world." Since then, the organization has worked to make that vision a reality by sending shipments of donated medical supplies to Syrian refugee camps (Lebanon and Syria), Haiti, Philippines, Bangladesh, Ghana, and the Children's Cancer Hospital (Cairo, Egypt). Currently, we are operating in a 3,000 square foot warehouse where we sort all the medical supplies for our future shipments.

Haneen Alakhras

My name is Haneen Alakhras! I am a senior at VCU and I've been a member of United2Heal since I first started here. I've been on the Gala commitee for three years, and this year I'm the director. I find the work we do so incredibly meaningful and our efforts are turning into something more fruitful every year. I hope people will consider sponsoring our event to keep our organization going!
