About the event

A series of program of activities leading up to an awareness event to continue supporting victims and their children of domestic violence and violence on a whole. From June 2016 to August 2016 we will be carrying out these activities planned. We rely on the support of business' and the community to see this through. Your sponsorship will go to these follwoing activities listed below;

16 ROOMS TO PHOENIX PAINT HOPE (JUNE THROUGH TO AUGUST)
Our team enters the homes and complimentary paints hope into two rooms of each home. Our paint is generously supplied by Sherwin Williams/Para Paint. Mom/Dad and children get to select any colour they desire. We enter with our volunteers and paint hope and show support that they are not alone.

COMFORT BOXES (JUNE THROUGH TO AUGUST)
8 Comfort Boxes to make for each Mom (Dad) to leave behind from our team and sponsors.
Journal, Healing Aromatherapy Candle, Rose Quartz Crystal & Phoenix CD

CHILDREN'S PANCAKE DAY  (JULY)
Outdoor venue where we are making pancakes for all kids in the shelter and low income housing with face painting and balloons!

BOB MARLEY YOGA & PLANTING FLOWERS OF HOPE (JULY)
A day for the women to gather and do Yoga plus plant a flower to bring hope and keep a growing reminder of the support she/he has from everyday people.

PHOENIX ALBUM #2 – ASHES TO BEAUTY (JULY)
A compilation album with all the artists in this part year who have donated their voice for the unspoken and unheard.

UPCOMING EVENT – UNITED VIBES (FRIDAY, AUGUST 5TH 2016)
Release of the album for finale!

Why should you sponsor?

Your sponsorship is important to show support to victims of domestic violence and violence on a whole.  Ever six days in Canada a woman dies from the hands of her spouse although the number of men are growing 83% of spousal victims are women. Over 800,00 children estimated witness abuse 10% witness women being abused and 4% witness men being abused. On any given day 3,300 women with their 3,000 children are forced to stay in emergency shelters, losing everything they have and know. Spousal abuse alone in Canada costs society approximately $7.4 billion dollars. Innocent lives are being taken and domestic violence is becoming the norm. We need to unite together and show suport to the parent and also educate the children to prevent and protect themselves. It takes a village to raise a child and as a society we should not turn a blind eye to either parent or child it's a basic human right. Without your support it isn't possible for us to handle the amount of women (men) we have in need.
