We Are the Ladies in Red 

Based on the principles of sisterhood, cultural diversity, and Asian-interest, the founding members of Alpha Sigma Rho came together in the fall semester of 1998 at University of Georgia at Athens. It is no secret that prejudice exists in America and no state's history showcases that prejudice better than Georgia, where America Civil Right Movement started. However, our founders continued to persevere. Through determination, this group of extraordinary women was able to overcome the difficulties by providing a solution to address the concerns of the Asian student body.

PURPOSE

We, the Alpha Sigma Rho Sorority, recognize the necessity of promoting sisterhood and Asian-Awareness within the university campus and the community while in the process of pursuing academic excellence as well as interpersonal growth, moral development, and strength in unity.

MISSION

To advance involvement in intercultural relationship and its associated interests and to foster and promote diversity.

VISION

Achievement of academic excellence as well as interpersonal growth, moral development, and strength in unity.

GOALS

To promote Asian-awareness and sisterhood.

Currently, Alpha Sigma Rho supports National Ovarian Cancer Coalition as our national philanthropic effort and each chapter or colony hosts a week dedicated to our national philanthropy at least once per school year. Each chapter or colony also has its own philanthropic services that we honor at the national level. We believe that through service, we can promote Alpha Sigma Rho’s value of sisterhood, diversity, and strength in unity.
