The tradition of the First and Third Trinity Boat Club Ball is over one hundred years old. In 1866, a Ball was thrown to celebrate a most successful May Bumps, with the First Trinity Boat Club at the head of the river and Third Trinity a close second. Since then, the Ball has evolved from a celebration attended by just 38 Trinitarians into a grand spectacle attended by some 1800 guests. Tickets are available not just to Trinity, but to the whole university community. The Ball is held annually and is one of the most sought-after events on the student social calendar. 149 years on, Trinity College once again plays host to the Ball on the 15th of June, 2015. Although times have changed, our commitment to deliver the best experience in terms of entertainment, food, and drink has not. The Trinity May Ball admits over 1,800 guests along with 200 staff. Trinity May Ball sports a total of 8 entertainment venues. These include the main stage where famous international bands perform, the casino, and the fairground. Every entertainment venue is also equipped with a bar serving a variety of chilled drinks suit all tastes. A large variety of food is also served to cater to the discerning tastes of our guests.
