About the event

We are a new social platform in Brighton called The Social Society, Social events for Social good. We are both an online and offline community of individuals that want to give back to the community we reside in. We support six grassroots charitable organisations each year with skill sharing, voluntary hours and a range of expertise from our members. A percentage of our membership fees goes to the six charities we are supporting to help them financially.

Whilst we have this community, one of the main aims is to make the platform fun so we host monthly social events. Meals out that make a difference, mid-week drinks that become world-changing thinks and kickboxing classes that kick period poverties butt! We are launching our platform officially on the 27th of October at Cafe Plenty after a pre-launch at TedEx in Brighton on the 26th and need sponsors who can support us with financing the launch, marketing the new platform. We have already had a lot of interest which is exciting, we now just need support to fund the launch, raise our profile and create an audience of people that want to do good!

We are a purpose driven organisation that wants to turn the way we contribute to our communities on its head. We believe that we can no longer rely on the government and external support to support the vulnerable in our communities.

The power of human connection is so very powerful and we think anyone that wants to get behind a business with social purpose will benefit not only from the media reach but for the value they will be offering to our community.

Miss Finnimore

I have been working in the charity sector for over ten years now and still do offer consultancy support to charities that need it. I have however watched the world within the third sector decline and more and more vulnerable people within our society suffer.

I have spent my career wanting to make a change and striving so hard to get to the top of the food chain that when I got to the top I realised, I couldn't be so far removed from making the real impact I set out to achieve.

I am an honest and genuine person that believes in the power of community and want to focus on doing good rather than talking about "impact and outcome measures" without the impact.
