About the event
The Purnell Family Reunion is about the celebration of uniting and reuniting with other family members. In 2005, at least 15 of our family members evacuated from New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina. We selected New Orleans as the site for the family Reunion to give some family members a few days to experience being back home. We have family members coming from AL, GA, FL, IN, LA, and TX. At least a third of the family considers New Orleans as HOME SWEET HOME. As our families continue to grow, we are using this procedure to continue to enhance our awareness of one another. One of the most effective ways to do this is through constant interaction through our family reunions.
Why should you sponsor?
The Purnell family Reunion will be a Homecoming opportunity for at least 1/3 of the family members who have not been back to New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The other 2/3 of the family members has never visited New Orleans before. The events we have planned are: Creole Queen Paddle Boat ride, Café Du Monde, Casino Seafood Buffet for Adults, Sunday morning Church services, Picnic in City Park, Audubon Insectarium, and Family Banquet at host hotel. These events will give each participant a big taste of what the city of New Orleans has to offer and of course sample the Creole and Cajun cuisine that can only be found here. We have registered the Purnell Family Reunion with the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau and have planned a world class adventure that is age-appropriate for everyone.
Eva MitchellI am the organizer and Reunion Committee Chairperson. I am a New Orleans native who attended elementary, high school and college/graduate school in New Orleans (Tulane School of Public Health). I have been a business owner in New Orleans since 2006. My corporation provides Environmental Safety and Health Consulting, and we are LA State Licensed (License # 64039) in Construction Demolition www.osha-enforcer.com.
We want to bring our family members back home and for some introduce them to the Sportsman's Paradise....the Big Easy.

Cost of 150 T-Shirts to be imprinted with Sponsors' Logo. Each Reunion participant will receive 2 T-Shirts . The T-shirts will be worn at the Reunion Picnic in City Park on 11/19/17 and to the Audubon Insectarium in down town New Orleans on 11/20/17.

Cost of 75 to 100 Gift Bags imprinted with Sponsors' Logo. Each Reunion participant will receive an Age-appropriate gift bag filled with items from local New Orleans Merchants. Gift bags will be provided at the Reunion Banquet on 11/21/2017.
