The Outward Bound Trail Challenge is an approximate 3.1 mile course beginning and ending in the main loop and general spectator area/race village of Baltimore’s beautiful Leakin Park. A trail run in the truest sense of the name, this course is a dash through Leakin Park on dirt trails, up and down hills, across streams and through beautiful scenery. Natural challenges are found throughout the course providing a diverse and exciting race experience unlike any other in Baltimore.
Help Others Do the Same
We created the Trail Challenge as a means to bring together and celebrate our students, alumni, and supporters in one awesome event! Proceeds from this race will go to the Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School (BCBOBS), whose mission is to change lives through challenge and discovery. We strive to provide all students, regardless of financial ability, the life-changing opportunity to challenge themselves on an Outward Bound expedition. Your registration and participation in this trail run will help us continue to achieve that goal and spread the Outward Bound mission across the Mid-Atlantic region. When signing up for the event, there will be an option to raise additional money for Outward Bound and our students. Reach out to friends and family interested in supporting you and Outward Bound and encourage them to give you pledges towards your chosen goal. To give you an idea of what you’ll be working towards…

$50 a pair of boots
$100 a tent
$150 puts one student on course for one day
$500 allows 12 students to participate in a 1-day Teambuilding program
$750 buys a canoe
$1,000 puts one student on a 5-day expedition
$2,000 puts three students on a 5-day expedition
$5,000 puts eight students on a 5-day expedition
$10,000 puts ten students on a 10-day expedition
Volunteer!
