Mimicry Games relocates the 2016 UEFA European Championship to Africa. Parallel to the European Cup in France, in Dakar, African professional football players from former European colonies will compete against each other wearing the jerseys of their former colonizers.
A live panel of experts, consisting of football professionals and experts from politics, culture, the arts and sport will kick questions about allegiance and football back and forth, while simultaneously commenting the match “Germany vs. France, Live from Senegal.”
Mimicry Games verlegt die UEFA European Championship 2016 nach Afrika. Parallel zur EM in Frankreich treten in Dakar afrikanische Profi - Fußballer aus ehemaligen europäischen Kolonien in den Trikots ihrer Kolonisatoren von einst gegeneinander an.
In einer Live-Expert*innenrunde bewegen Fußballprofis und Fachleute aus Politik, Kultur, Kunst und Sport Fragen zu Zugehörigkeit und Fußball spielerisch hin und her, gleichzeitig kommentieren sie das Spiel »Deutschland vs. Frankreich, live aus dem Senegal«.

Philip Kojo Metz is a conceptual artist working with themes related to identity, history, and the relationship of contemporary cultures towards one another.
