The DYPIS Dandiya Utsav 2019,

The Catholic Gymkhana Limited, Marine Drive, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India The Catholic Gymkhana Limited, Marine Drive, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

  • About the event

We would be delighted to partner with D. Y. Patil International School in furthering our mission of Spreading Light, Transforming Lives!

To help raise funds for this noble cause, IBDP learners have organized a Dandiya event of fun-filled activities on Friday 11th October, 2019 at Catholic Gymkhana, Marine Drive from 5pm to 10pm.

Chirag Rural Development Foundation ( CRDF), under its flagship Project Chirag, has been providing solar electrification in dark villages across 9 states, namely Maharashtra, Rajasthan, U.P., Karnataka, Meghalaya, Assam, Uttarakhand, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh since 2010. By installing solar home lights, street lights and solar mini grids to bring light, water and livelihoods into the lives of villagers, Project Chirag has crafted over a hundred thousand bright smiles across over 444 villages.

With no electricity, the one-room mud shelter 200-odd kilometres away from the bustling metropolis Mumbai has only a kerosene lamp for light – a sight so commonly seen in rural India where power remains unaffordable, inadequate, or simply non-existent for around 240 million people. These are the areas we hope to bring about change in with our solar interventions. At CRDF, we aim to be the preferred sustainable energy partners for communities-in-need, and hope to bridge the gap between a modern India that aspires to take its rightful place as a global leader and a part of India that is yet struggling to get the most basic of necessities.

    Why should you sponsor?

This event is organised for a noble cause which is faced across more than 9 states in India and the funds raised by these event will be sent to project Chirag.
