About the event

The Connect is a community-led for-profit organization founded in 2017. Our mission is to provide unique experiences for young professionals of color in the DFW area, fostering deeper connections and a sense of responsibility for the betterment of our community. The Connect Dallas hosts several events a year and engages with an audience of over 2500+ people via various social media platforms.

 The Connect is growing rapidly and we know our success depends on our ability to successfully integrate young professionals of color into the DFW community. Currently, there are a couple outdoor movie nights in the DFW that are highly attended, but not necessarily by minority groups. We intend to host an outdoor movie night in Griggs Park that will provide a space for all DFW residents to enjoy films that feature underrepresented groups. With the rise of movies like "Black Panther" and "Captain Marvel", we believe that diversity in film will only increase and should be celebrated.

We are seeking financial sponsorship to secure the A/V equipment needed for the movie screening, as well as to pay the Dallas Police Department (as required by parks and recs for large outdoor events).

Through the events we host and partnerships with past organizations, The Conenct has proven its ability to engage young professionals of color and help others benefit from the economic power of this group. 

Ayanna Warrington

My name is Ayanan Warrington and I am part of The Connect Dallas' executive team. I haev several years of experience planning events for minority groups.

I am a Baltimore, MD native who is happy to have made a second home in Dallas, TX. After graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park graduate with a dual degree in Marketing and Business Information Systems.

I am passionate about two things: technology and people. I work full-time as a consultant helping high-tech companies manage complex organizational changes that impact people around the globe.
