The Color Run,

Troy, New York, United States Troy, New York, United States

  • About the event

According to the 2010 SatisFacts Index, when asked what can be done to improve the community, residents ranked “Social Activities” #29 out of 30. So what’s all they hype about being number 29? While low on the list, residents still manage to consider resident activities as a factor in determining where to live. So what do we do with that, well at the United Group of Companies, we utilize the live.learn.relax program to gives students a range of experiences that make college fun and productive, from ski trips to volunteer activities to résumé workshops. In the past, we have hit some of the live.learn.relax goals by providing quality service with an expectation that all staff are committed to making residents and guests feel welcomed. We have hosted events such as Taco Tuesday, Go Red Event, and Resident Appreciation Week. But, in an industry that has seen customer turnover fluctuate between 55 and 62% over the past 10 years, do we really believe that the answer is better move-in gifts, cute door hangers and more pizza parties? While the activities that we’ve done have allowed us to provide a service to our residents by giving back to them, none of the activities that we have done so far have really provided the educational value to our residents that allow our community to align with the goals of the universities that we serve. As a result, I am proposing that we, at the United Group of Companies, host a Color Run. After much long preperation, the Color Run is underway, but we need your help to make it possible today!

College Suites at City Station, under the Untied Group of Companies, will be partnering with the Troy Boys & Girls Club for a Color Troy Bright Event. At this time, we are seeking corporate donors and sponsorship from community organizations and businesses like yours! Since 1903 the Troy Boys & Girls Club has been in the forefront of youth development, working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social and family circumstances. Troy Boys & Girls Club has actively sought to enrich the lives of youth whom other agencies have had difficulty reaching. Among many other endeavors, the Boys & Girls Club of Troy's many accolades is a program known as Project Learn, which has served over 300 kids over the past two years and is currently helping 156 enrolled children. City Station will partner with the Boys & Girls Club to help raise funds for Project Learn, which provides kids with High- Yield Learning Activities while they are at the Club that enhances their Club Experience and puts them on track to succeed in the classroom.

The Color Troy Bright run will be open to all members of the community, as well as college students in the area who have returned for the Fall '17 semester. College Suites at City Station serves as a unique partner in this venture due to the nature of the organization. City Station is comprised of 3 different buildings that serve 395 individuals whom are undergraduates, graduates and graduate families. City Station will directly pitch the Color Troy Bright event to all residents as part of our flagship Live. Learn. Relax. program, as well as actively market to the community across several different advertising channels. Our hopes are to have 400 individual participants sign up. With your support, we will be able to create an event that encompasses the spirit of Troy, and brings the community together both from a local and college perspective to help the Troy Boys & Girls club continue to serve the children of Troy at an admirable level. As of right now, the date of the event is set to September 30th 2017. However, the event and all its glory can not be possible without meeting the budget requirements set forth by myself at the onset of planning the event. As a result, I host this page to ask for your contribution to our event to help make it possible today! If you are interested in more information and would like to be an offical sponsor of Color Troy Bright, please contact me at 518-720-0300 for more information on sponsorship levels and opportunities.

    Why should you sponsor?

By becoming an event sponsor, you can gain recognition for your organization through brand visibility by rasising community awareness of your brand and support kids who need us most—a true win-win!
