The Challenge Throwdown for the Cause Philadelphia,

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

  • About the event

Event Location: Howl at the Moon , Philadelphia, PA

Purpose: Grunt Guy Events will be raising money for MedGift.

                    MedGift: Cancer Foundation

(MedGift) While Diem lost her fight on November 14th, 2014 her dream lives on.

Inspired by one of MedGift's founders Diem Brown's personal fight to overcome ovarian cancer, not once, but twice. Diem felt isolated, alone and overwhelmed during much of her first battle with ovarian cancer trying to juggle her fight with her day-to-day life. At the same time she saw the helpless questioning eyes of "How Can I Help?", from her friends and family.

Realizing there is often a gap between those who want to help and those who need help, MedGift was created. MedGift gives the power back to those facing health related hardships or needs and brings awareness to friends, families and peer groups that want to help but just don't know how.

MedGift takes the guesswork out of how one can help. Through our MedGift support page, the person experiencing a health-related hardship or need can list their Financial, Physical and Emotional needs allowing friends and family to select the areas they can help them with, including those listed in a personalized "registry".

MedGift works like a bridal registry, just on a different milestone of life, which is why you will see a "registry" tab on our MedGift support page as we wanted to create a home that celebrates the fight of those who struggle!

(A Warrior’s Mind) Veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars developed A Warriors Mind because we faced many challenges after we left service. Our primary focus is to bring veterans and civilians together in their community. We assist in transitioning from military to civilian life by helping vets in need, connecting with veteran friendly employers, promoting a fit lifestyle, and hosting community building events. One of the hardest parts of anyone’s military service is the transition to civilian life. We are here to support you because no one gets left behind.

    Joshua Hall

My name is Joshua Hall and I started "The Grunt Guy", the goal is to take the heart ache out of planning events for charitable organizations. Alot of time organizations find themselves trying to make up what was spend of their funding during the event and hoping by the end to raise some new funds. We take that stress away.

At "The Grunt Guy" we finance the entire event and then choose one or two organizations to donate a portion of the proceeds too. Every event we put together a minimum of 50% of proceeds go to a charitble organization. This allows a organization to come out to a event be represented and raise funds without worrying about if they will even break even on the event.
