About Us

1.      The CallBacks is a theatre collective consisting of an all –male cast with a female director.  The artists involved are all former students of a drama club in a secondary school who have decided to come together years after leaving the school to continue pursuing their love of theatre. Most are waiting to enter tertiary institutions (universities) and some are ending their national service term. The all-male cast is directed by their former drama teacher who firmly believes that the talent nurtured in them should not go to waste. It is our intent to keep this going in the years to come.

2.   The Callbacks aims to utilize theatre as a platform to observe the community’s response to the artists and for the artist to reach out through our works. We are firm believers in creating work that is original or adapting scripts to suit the local palate. Issues explored will be identifiable with Singaporeans and shed light offering new perspectives. The collective strives to put up a production at least once a year.
